DescriptionWe are looking for an Intern to join our Commercial Disputes Expert Services team in this role youll work closely with lawyers to assist in the resolution of disputes and where appropriate working closely with teams within the firm providing specialist advice to companies. This means a wide and varied exposure for you to be able to develop and gain further skills in areas such as complex litigation and disputes including valuation and quantifying damages insolvency investigations determining contract disputes (e.g. post M&A) or providing financial advice.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Expert Services Interns work on a variety of assignments including the preparation of expert reports for tribunals or arbitration process in a context of a legal dispute (breach of contract early termination agreement or shareholders disputes).
- Providing accounting financial economic or quantitative advice to help progress cases
- Conduct industry research in order to gain an understanding of the drivers that affect value and damages
- Assist in the development and/or the evaluation of damages claims valuation reports and other financial reports
- Organize and analyze large data sets to provide meaningful conclusions
- Working with financial models for discounted cash flow market multiple or market transaction
- Independently gathering data pertinent to the engagement through direct client interaction and client site visits
- Assisting with the development of proposals presentations and publications communicated to current and prospective clients

Essential Traits:
- Current Degree Pursuit: Studying Finance Accounting Business Administration Economics or related disciplines.
- Excellent report writing skills in Dutch and English (any other language welcomed)
- The ability to explain complex technical issues in an understandable manner.
- A logical and methodical approach to problem solving as well as being able to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Critical thinker with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong numeracy skills with the ability to process and analyse large volumes of data.
- Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues.
- Comfortable working both independently and in a team.
- Ability to simultaneously handle diverse and pressing assignments and sensitive and adversarial situations.
- Competent in the use of Excel Word and PowerPoint
