Business Insider is hiring a senior editor for our Economy team to help drive coverage on how economic forces shape our jobs budgets major life decisions and more.
Youll thrive in this role if youre a strong idea-generator and skilled people manager who can inspire reporters sharpen their thinking and push them toward bold distinctive journalism.
The Role:
The Economy senior editor will assign and edit creative engaging stories that capture how people experience the economy. They will think strategically about the teams coverage mix innovate ways to set our reporting apart and edit for clarity pacing and narrative while upholding high standards of accuracy and rigor.
BIs economy editors excel at spotting trends in data policy and everyday life that translate into relatable experiences and big life decisions. The teams remit is wide encompassing student loans retirement housing work wealth and spending anywhere economic forces intersect with Americans everyday lives. This editor should also be comfortable analyzing metrics to help inform strategy.
This person will report to the lead Economy editor and manage a team of reporters. As part of our broader Innovation coverage team this person may help out in other areas as needed. This position is based in our NYC headquarters with an in-office expectation of three days a week.
