Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This role is essential in ensuring efficient patient flow high-quality patient care and smooth medical office operations while supporting physicians and surgeons.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
Room patients obtain vital signs and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
Perform venipuncture EKGs point-of-care testing and specimen collection/processing as assigned
Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
Escort patients to exam and procedure rooms and assist with mobility transfers and dressing
Communicate physician instructions to patients and families; respond to incoming calls appropriately
Prepare clean and maintain examination rooms and equipment following infection control protocols
Administrative & Clerical Support
Manage patient medical records including filing scanning and maintaining charts
Process lab results imaging reports referrals hospital notes and operative reports
Enter orders into the EMR system and prepare prescription refill requests for provider review
Complete forms requisitions consent forms and pre-admission documentation
Schedule appointments procedures and surgeries; coordinate with clinical staff as needed
Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
Perform insurance verification and pre-certifications when required
Operational & Compliance Duties
Inventory order and restock medical supplies
Monitor medication and supply expiration dates and dispose of items per policy
Maintain required logs for refrigeration sterilization point-of-care testing and emergency equipment
Adhere to safety standards infection control guidelines and PPE requirements
Ensure compliance with institutional policies legal regulations and workplace safety standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program
Prior medical office and/or phlebotomy experience preferred
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a diverse environment
