Schedule: MondayFriday 10:00 AM 6:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20/hour

Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This role is essential in ensuring efficient patient flow high-quality patient care and smooth medical office operations while supporting physicians and surgeons.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support

  • Room patients obtain vital signs and prepare patients for examinations and procedures

  • Perform venipuncture EKGs point-of-care testing and specimen collection/processing as assigned

  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures

  • Escort patients to exam and procedure rooms and assist with mobility transfers and dressing

  • Communicate physician instructions to patients and families; respond to incoming calls appropriately

  • Prepare clean and maintain examination rooms and equipment following infection control protocols

Administrative & Clerical Support

  • Manage patient medical records including filing scanning and maintaining charts

  • Process lab results imaging reports referrals hospital notes and operative reports

  • Enter orders into the EMR system and prepare prescription refill requests for provider review

  • Complete forms requisitions consent forms and pre-admission documentation

  • Schedule appointments procedures and surgeries; coordinate with clinical staff as needed

  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information

  • Perform insurance verification and pre-certifications when required

Operational & Compliance Duties

  • Inventory order and restock medical supplies

  • Monitor medication and supply expiration dates and dispose of items per policy

  • Maintain required logs for refrigeration sterilization point-of-care testing and emergency equipment

  • Adhere to safety standards infection control guidelines and PPE requirements

  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies legal regulations and workplace safety standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant

  • Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program

  • Prior medical office and/or phlebotomy experience preferred

  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a diverse environment
