Job Summary

Our partner a biotechnology company specializing in the development and manufacturing of diagnostic solutions with applications across food safety environmental testing and healthcare is looking for a new Senior Scientist to join their R&D team in Budapest.

The aim of this role is to lead and manage development projects of culture media for detecting foodborne pathogens bridging research and production. This is a long-term role offering continuous innovation opportunities aligned with evolving market needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead development and scale-up of culture media and diagnostic kits for food and feed safety
Establish manufacturing and QC processes supporting smooth transfer to production
Ensure compliance with internal and international quality standards through verification & validation
Collaborate with internal teams suppliers and laboratory partners to meet client-driven needs
Train and mentor technical staff on new methods and workflows
Support troubleshooting continuous improvement and product maintenance

You are the ideal candidate if you possess:

MSc in Microbiology (preferred) orBiologyBiotechnologyor related field (PhD a plus)
510 years experience in R&D or product development of food safety products
510 years experience in food safety microbiology R&D
Strong background in microbial culture assay developmentand process transfer
Excellent problem-solving documentation and communication skills

This role is a Budapest based opportunity therefore in case you do not reside in Hungary this position requires relocation. Relocation is supported by our partner with an extensive relocation package.
