Software Engineer – Hardware & Windows Security

Team Red Dog is seeking a Software Engineer Hardware & Windows Security to work with a Fortune 100 technology leader on the security foundations of modern Windows devices. This role sits deep in the platform stack designing and building secure boot TPM firmware cryptographic services and OS-level protections that ship to millions of devices worldwide. Based hybrid in Redmond WA youll work hands-on with low-level Windows code firmware and Microsofts Pluton security chipsetsolving complex security-critical problems that directly shape the trust model of the Windows hardware ecosystem.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

1. Hardware security expertise including secure boot TPM trusted platform security and device-level protection mechanisms used in Windows laptop and Surface-class devices.
2. Cryptography experience specifically encryption and decryption software development applied to operating systems firmware and security processors.
3. Low-level Windows development experience including firmware drivers OS boot components and system-level security architecture.
4. Strong C/C or equivalent low-level programming skills used to implement test and debug security-critical code paths.

How you will make an impact:
Participate in daily sprint execution design discussions and engineering syncs
Design implement and test low-level Windows boot and security components
Develop firmware and software for Windows boot processes and security processors
Implement and maintain TPM drivers and cryptographic functionality
Write review and debug security-critical code across OS firmware and driver layers
Contribute to feature development for next-generation Windows device security
Perform unit testing system testing and post-implementation validation
Troubleshoot complex issues across new and legacy production systems
Collaborate with cross-functional hardware firmware and OS engineering teams

The expertise you bring:
Bachelors degree in computer science computer engineering or a related technical field
57 years of professional software engineering experience
Strong foundation in computer science including data structures algorithms and software design
Experience with large-scale systems software design and development
Hands-on experience troubleshooting debugging and unit testing low-level systems
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex security and system-level issues

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:
Prior hands-on experience specifically in hardware and platform security domains
Deep understanding of Windows internals firmware drivers and boot processes
Strong working knowledge of cryptographic principles and secure code implementation
Comfort discussing security architecture decisions and tradeoffs in depth
Experience working with specialized hardware prototypes or secure lab environments
