Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice that proactively manages and delivers to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons 98 courts and 141 community correctional sites.
The Property Manager oversees service delivery for a set portfolio of Ministry of Justice and Corrections Community Sites. They manage jobs from start to finish supported by coordinators but ultimately accountable for performance. The role involves travel for site inspections and due to a lower workload in this area they may occasionally assist Property Managers in other regions.
What Youll Do
This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:
Promote Zero Harm by ensuring all work is delivered safely and aligns with Downer Values.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to foster trust and collaboration.
Oversee job delivery to meet safety quality cost and KPI targets including managing contractors for maintenance and reactive work.
Control job costs within budget and provide support to other property managers when required.
Ensure site compliance with regulations such as BWOF and HSNO in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with clients site staff and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations and service delivery.
Demonstrate technical and administrative capability including basic knowledge of HVAC/electrical/plumbing/fire systems familiarity with CAFM systems and proficiency in preparing reports and quotations.
Flexibility to work outside regular hours as operational needs or emergencies require.

Over 5 years management experience in the facilities industry.
Strong analytical numeric and data interpretation skills to support evidence-based decision making.
Skilled in driving operational performance ensuring quality timely delivery and minimal rework.
Effective at resource planning scheduling and meeting deadlines with strong ownership and commitment.
Solid understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
Strong interpersonal leadership time management and organisational skills; able to work both independently and in teams.
Competent in MS Outlook Word and Excel at an intermediate level.
NZ Full drivers license is required.
