About Organization

Our department is responsible for the development of various devices provided to our customers including smartphones mobile routers and IoT devices.

As a Device Technology Lead you will work closely with device vendors chipset vendors and OS vendors. Your primary responsibilities will include examining device technology roadmaps and defining/specifying device requirements with a particular focus on connectivity/SIM technologies (e.g. Wi-Fi Bluetooth NFC UWB IoT communication protocols GSMA).

Job Duties

Connectivity Technology Roadmap Formulation:Research and analyze the latest standard trends in Wi-Fi Bluetooth UWB 5G etc. and formulate a technology roadmap aligned with Rakutens service strategy.
Protocol Implementation and Optimization:Responsible for protocol stack implementation performance tuning and power consumption optimization for various connectivity technologies.
Interoperability Verification:Lead compatibility testing between devices and chipsets from different vendors and manage certification acquisition from standardization organizations (e.g. Wi-Fi Alliance Bluetooth SIG).
Rakuten SIM Profile Creation and Verification:Responsible for creating and verifying the Rakuten SIM Profile.

Relevant Team in Network Division Device Development Cloud Platform QA Standardization Promotion etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Practical experience (3 years) with multiple wireless communication standards such as Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) Bluetooth (Classic/LE) NFC UWB etc.
Deep understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP UDP HTTP/HTTPS MQTTSIM prfofile etc.
Experience in protocol stack development or firmware development using C/C Python etc.
Experience in network development and debugging in Linux environments

Language: English- Business level

Preferred Qualifications

Development and implementation experience with latest communication standards such as 5G NR LTE Wi-Fi 6E/7 etc.
Experience collaborating with chipset vendors (Qualcomm MediaTek Broadcom etc.)
Experience participating in standardization activities of Wi-Fi Alliance Bluetooth SIG 3GPP etc.
Basic knowledge of RF design and antenna design
Development experience with IoT devices smart home connected cars etc.
Advanced skills in packet analysis using Wireshark tcpdump etc.
Development experience with embedded Linux RTOS (FreeRTOS Zephyr etc.)
Knowledge about eSIM profile
