Citrix Servers L3 Administrator / Engineer
Role Overview
The Citrix L3 Administrator is responsible for advanced management troubleshooting and optimization of Citrix environments. This includes XenApp/XenDesktop Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Citrix ADC (NetScaler) and related infrastructure. The role requires deep expertise in Citrix technologies strong problemsolving skills and the ability to resolve complex issues independently while supporting enterprisescale deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop and Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops environments.
- Provide L3 support for escalated incidents ensuring timely resolution of complex Citrix issues.
- Administer and optimize Citrix ADC (NetScaler) for load balancing VPN and application delivery.
- Perform patching upgrades and configuration management across Citrix servers and components.
- Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for Citrix infrastructure.
- Implement security hardening and compliance standards for Citrix environments.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell or scripting tools.
- Collaborate with infrastructure network and application teams to ensure seamless delivery of Citrix services.
- Lead root cause analysis for critical incidents and document resolutions.
- Maintain knowledge base and documentation for configurations processes and troubleshooting guides.
Required Skills & Experience
- 712 years of experience in Citrix administration with strong L3 expertise.
- Handson experience with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops Citrix ADC (NetScaler).
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and Active Directory integration.
- Expertise in Citrix StoreFront Citrix Director Citrix Studio and Profile Management.
- Experience with Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) / Machine Creation Services (MCS).
- Familiarity with hypervisors (VMware HyperV) and cloud platforms (Azure AWS).
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts firewalls and load balancing.
- Ability to lead critical incident resolution and mentor junior administrators.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: CCAV CCPV CCEV (Citrix Certified Expert Virtualization).
- Experience with Citrix Cloud and hybrid deployments.
- Exposure to monitoring tools (Citrix Director ControlUp Splunk etc.).
- Knowledge of ITIL processes for incident problem and change management.
