IMEGis growing andwedlove to have you join our team!Wecurrentlyhaveanopen positionforaSenior Acousticsor SeniorAudiovisual (AV)Designerinone a SeniorDesigner youwill lead design efforts as a project manager or leaddesignfordelivery ofprojectsvarying in complexity with minimal supportrequiredfromsenior responsible forworking closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will includeassisting inengineering analysis design andimplementationoversight of acousticsor audiovisualsystems in buildings. This position will be expected to work within the projects monetary budget train mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts for the analysisand development of projects across various market sectors

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly across many different audiencesusing narratives diagrams and engaging presentations

  • Interact with clients to understand their needs gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication

  • Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Lead efforts in project planning budgeting and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines andobjectives. Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended

  • Coordinate designrequirements within a multidisciplinarydesign teamincludingexecutingcalculations according to code requirementsand industry standards development ofspecificationclauses and other innovative ways of developing acoustic/audiovisual recommendations and integrated project solutions

  • Provide in-process design reviewsofdesigndeliverables. Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that designstrategiesmeet IMEG quality standards industrystandardsand client requirements

  • Stay up to date with industry trends emerging technologies/products and best practices. Contribute to research development and innovation efforts within IMEG

  • Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager

  • Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase includingvisitingproject sites for inspections measurements commissioning and testing

  • Contribute to overall team success through process improvement setting standards contributing to resourcing and building morale

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strongtechnical and analytical skills

  • Proficiency of fundamentalsof acoustics fundamentals of vibration engineering acoustics noise control digital signal processing electroacoustics human responses to acoustics and vibration(acoustics focused)

  • Proficiency of principles relating to electrical voltage and currentdigitaland analog signalsvideo signal types video system calculations ( distance screen sizing pixel pitch etc.)basic IT networking topologies and protocolsand sound system calculationsas it relates toaudiovisual (AV)systems design for buildings(audiovisual focused)

  • Ability to trainmentor and motivateless experienced staff

  • Proficiencyof industry standardacoustic / audiovisualengineering software and tools

  • Proficiencywith specialist technical equipment and software such assound level meters vibration analyzers3D acoustic / electroacoustic computer modeling digital signalprocessingand visual programming language audio software ( and 3D BIM software 3D modeling software (Rhinoceros 3D Sketchup)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

  • Ability to travel up to20% with occasional overnight stays

Education and Experience

Acoustics:

  • Degree in acoustics or architectural engineering OR a degree in music architecture physics engineering computer science sound reproduction sound recording with strongdemonstratedexperience in acoustics

Audiovisual:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering Electrical Engineering Technology electroacoustics sound recordingORa in science architecture engineering music withdemonstratedcoursework in electroacoustics acoustics or related field

  • AVIXIA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or other industry / manufacturer certifications

Experience:

  • 14years of experience minimumrequired16preferred in the building design consulting industry

Salary Range $101000- $141000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
