Job Summary

Position Summary:

Johns Hopkins Medicine created the Internet Strategy and Web Services team to serve as a central strategic leader in the exploration development execution and analysis of a digital strategy that connects the people of the world to the people of Johns Hopkins Medicine. Serving all aspects of the three-part mission of research education and patient care the team leads large-scale enterprise projects as well as internal fee-for-service activities including strategic content creation information architecture and taxonomy curation search engine optimization search engine marketing social media engagement faculty profile optimization and maintenance and sub-site and micro-site development and maintenance. The team also supports nearly 400 distributed editors providing daily support and ongoing training.

The User Experience Architect III is responsible for gathering and communicating audience insights and contributing to every aspect of our visitors digital engagement with Johns Hopkins Medicine through our central strategic channels. The UX Architect will consider the flow and layout of screens the presentation of content and data and the incorporation of graphic and static elements. The role is collaborative with research analysts visual designers web developers senior staff and contributors from all aspects of the organization. The role collaborates on a number of project teams with responsibility to deliver clear user data wireframes site architectures stylistic guidance and standards to inform visual design and technology decisions.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in an equivalent field required

Work Experience:

  • Minimum six years experience in designing user interface and graphics for web-based applications including corporate websites Intranets online catalogs extranets and information-based sites for both consumer and business-to-business customers.
  • Experience working in the healthcare or academic medicine industry preferred.
