Homes NSW brings together housing and homelessness services under one roof to deliver more social and affordable housing end the cycle of homelessness and provide quality public housing to over 262000 tenants. We put people at the heart of everything we doour clients and our staff.

Your role

As a Community Engagement Manager you will lead the development implementation and evaluation of community engagement approaches with a focus on high density projects as well as strategic activities to support a best practice engagement approach across relevant community stakeholder and industry groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a community engagement team delivering engagement for state-significant developments rezonings major partnerships and estate renewals.
  • Provide strategic advice and specialist support to executives and business units to enable effective community and stakeholder participation.
  • Design implement and evaluate best-practice legislation-compliant community and stakeholder engagement strategies and programs.
  • Identify analyse and manage critical community and stakeholder issues providing strategic advice solutions and recommendations.
  • Manage multiple projects and external providers overseeing planning resources budgets and delivery of high-quality outcomes.
  • Lead and develop staff through performance management coaching and capability building and prepare high-quality briefings and engagement materials.

Preferred Experience

We are seeking candidates with have extensive knowledge and experience of delivering the statutory and reporting requirements of community engagement within state significant development as well as a sound understanding of the planning system. This role requires briefing Ministers and Members of Parliament. Demonstrated experience in parliamentary and ministerial briefings is highly regarded.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications public relations policy or related discipline and/or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Willingness and capacity to travel to outer suburban and regional locations and to work outside of core business hours in the evening and on weekends
