The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Financial Accountant to join our team on a 5 month maximum term contract. This role calls for an individual with strong assets experience a positive disposition and exceptional business this role you will be responsible for ensuring that the financial accounting control statutory and regulatory reporting is completed accurately and in timely manner.
A day on the job will see you:
- Support month-end processes to ensure internal and external reporting deadlines are met.
- Prepare month-end postings and accruals supported by audit-ready documentation.
- Ensure timely meaningful and accurate preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Responsible for the maintenance and optimisation of the Fixed Asset Register and related processes.
- Manage lease accounting and maintain the accuracy of data within Nomos One leasing software.
- Record and reconcile investments including term deposits and managed funds.
- Prepare monthly BAS and Payroll Tax statements and annual FBT returns.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and notes to the financial statements.
- Coordinate with external auditors to manage interim and year-end audit deliverables.
- Ensure the reporting and general ledger integrity of the Technology One finance system.
- Prepare financial statements and capital project data for quarterly and annual Treasury submissions.
Qualifications :
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting Commerce or related discipline.
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards).
- Well-developed broad experience with business and accounting systems in a large ERP environment.
- Experience with Technology One finance systems would be highly regarded.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge/experience in Government Accounting and Treasury Instructions preferred.
- Ability to identify improvement opportunities and support change initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise and control workload.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to establish business relationships with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
- Audit experience in Big 4 or second tier firms highly desirable.
