Job Summary

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The position of ClinicalSupervisor for the Health Science Careers program is for the purpose of training and monitoring students in the clinical settings to obtain required clinical hours to become nursing assistants.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

Provide assistance to the students in the clinical/field site settings.
Maintaining computer records and lists.
Manage student clinical sites including daily student clinical assignments.
Supervise students in clinical or field site settings during the school and beyond school hours as required to support each student in meeting state required 40 training hours in approved health care sites as a nursing assistant.
Reinforce basic skills and management of curriculum required for certification as nursing students.
Manage student records and student assessment for assigned clinical sites.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports directly and is supervised by the Director of Payroll & Benefits.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):

Required:
Minimum one year experience within the past three years in caring for the elderly or chronically ill of any age or both
OR
Have completed three years of verifiable paid experience as a licensed nurse at any time providing direct patient care for the elderly or chronically ill of any age AND verifiable paid or unpaid work experience as a licensed nurse in any role for at least one of the last three years.


Must complete training in and adhere to district infection control plan

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):

Must hold a current Washington state license to practice as a registered or licensed practical nurse. (An application as instructional staff must be approved by the Washington State Nursing Commission. Assistance with this application can be provided by BSD staff. The Commission may deny or withdraw an instructors approval if there is or has been any action taken against a health care license or any license held by the applicant which allows him or her to work with vulnerable populations.)
Current WA state LPN or RN license
CPR and first aid certification is required.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff students and parents
Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity with the ability to effectively and collaboratively work with diverse populations
Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies district and legal requirements
Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting finger dexterity grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts odors chemicals extreme temperatures inadequate lighting workspace restrictions and intense noises.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

CTSA salary level 4 $ 36.88/hour 6 hours/day 6:30-9:30am and 12:00-3:30pm for an approximate 16 day assignment between February 2 and March 19 2025. Additionally there will be two 8-hour days. This position is temporary-hourly and does not include benefits.


NOTE:

Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed. The successful candidate for this position must be fingerprinted. Employment is contingent upon clearance by Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
