Key Responsibilities
AML & Compliance Program Development Develop and implement comprehensive anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance programs that align with regulatory requirements and best practices as required under PMLA Act 2002. Ensure all policies procedures and controls are current effective and properly documented.
Regulatory Agency Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors in India ensuring timely and accurate communication and reporting on compliance-related issues. Act as the contact point with FIU India manage communications properly and escalate when needed. Regulatory Monitoring & Advisory Monitor changes in AML and compliance regulations and provide guidance and recommendations to the executive team to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
Stay ahead of regulatory developments and proactively adapt compliance frameworks. Risk Assessment & Audit Management Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance and implement corrective measures and controls to mitigate financial risks effectively. Perform enterprise-wide risk assessments and conduct compliance testing reporting results to management. Training & Culture Building Provide training and guidance to employees on AML and compliance matters fostering a culture of awareness and accountability throughout the organization. Manage relationships with key internal and external parties and promote a positive compliance culture. Policy & Documentation Management Assist with the creation maintenance and review of policies procedures and controls to identify prevent mitigate and manage regulatory risk. Update investment and disclosure documentation in line with regulatory legislative and business changes. Maintain PMLA records and ensure audit readiness. Reporting & Documentation Prepare board and compliance reports. Review alerts and prepare Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) ensuring timely and accurate reporting to FIU India. Provide timely and effective responses to FIU India inquiries and manage regulator correspondence. License & Compliance Management Lead conversations with regulators and ensure compliance to all licenses for payment services and digital assets. Manage requests from internal and external stakeholders including regulators payment service providers and other entities. Incident & Complaint Management Investigate breaches and incidents and ensure timely resolution and improvement to control environment. Manage the complaint handling process particularly escalated complaints ensuring proper resolution and documentation. Vendor & Tool Management Identify and partner with the appropriate partners and tools needed for compliance—help get them onboarded and initiated. Evaluate and implement compliance technology solutions to enhance monitoring and reporting capabilities
