Position Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and accountable to the licensed nursing staff members the CNA assists in providing patient care and maintaining records and a clean environment.
Essential Functions
-Provides care appropriate to the age of the population served.
-Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of human growth and development.
-Provides proper personal hygiene and care to all patients.
-Accurately measures and records vital signs weights and heights and intake/output.
-Recognizes abnormal findings and reports such findings appropriately.
-Demonstrates knowledge of proper transfer techniques.
-Consistently provides preventative skin care measures and reports abnormalities to nursing staff.
-Provides meal assistance to patients as needed.
-Properly collects specimens as directed.
-Utilizes special beds appropriately and triggers alarms on all high riskfor falls patients.
-Keep patient rooms neat and tidy.
-Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
- Will act as safety sitter as needed.
-Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
-Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
-One year of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
-Clerical and medical terminology experience preferred.
-Basic computer experience preferred.
-Legible handwriting and ability to spell ability to read and write English preferred.
-Utilize effective oral and written communication skills preferred.
-Performance of simple math calculations preferred.
Education
-Texas State Certified Nurse Aide License is .
-BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire date .
