The Med Surg Registered Nurses job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Participate in a formal orientation program including designated hours for hands-on training and simulation sessions.
2. Deliver patient care under the supervision of experienced nurses while adhering to established protocols and procedures.
3. Engage in simulation training to develop and refine clinical and decision-making skills in a controlled environment.
4. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to create and implement patient care plans.
5. Monitor and record patients vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
6. Educate patients and families on health conditions post-treatment care and preventive strategies.
7. Assist with procedures and the management of medical equipment as required.
8. Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
9. Reflect on practice and receive feedback from mentors and preceptors to enhance professional growth.
10. Attend workshops seminars and other educational opportunities to continue professional development.
11. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with legal and ethical standards of nursing practice.
12. Respond to patient requests and concerns with empathy providing a high level of customer service.
13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
14. Develop leadership and teamwork skills while gaining exposure to different nursing roles and specialties.
