Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Hillsborough Family Practice

**$10000 Commitment Bonus for Eligible Candidates**

Duke Primary Care Hillsborough provides comprehensive family-centered care for patients of all ages in one convenient location. Our team offers everything from annual physicals screenings and immunizations to sick visits chronic condition management and womens health services. We also provide pediatric care including well-child visits school and sports physicals and ongoing support for conditions like asthma allergies and diabetes. With on-site lab testing and X-rays we make it easy for patients to get the care they need close to home.

Location: 267 South Churchton Street Hillsborough NC 27278

Schedule: 8am 5pm Monday Friday

What you will do:

  • Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed by the doctor and maintain records.
  • Provide direct care to patients under the supervision of a nurse or doctor.
  • Follow the doctors orders and nursing care plan for patient care.
  • Report patient responses to care to a nurse for evaluation and adjustments to the care plan.
  • Assist other healthcare staff in delivering patient care.
  • Help doctors and nurses with diagnostic procedures.
  • Assess nursing care patient responses and prioritize nursing tasks.
  • Help develop and implement policies to ensure patient comfort and safety and participate in creating new policies.
  • Contribute to maintaining the care environment including equipment and supplies.
  • Identify and assist in improving clinical and operational performance.
  • Assist in managing supplies and equipment reporting any malfunctions to the charge nurse.
  • Participate in training programs and help train new staff.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

What you will need:

Education

  • Work requires graduation from an approved or accredited Practical Nurse program.

Experience

  • No experience required.

Degrees Licensure and/or Certification

  • Current State of North Carolina LPN licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).

Knowledge Skills Education and Experience

  • Ability to find resources independently and work well with others
  • Clear communication with patients families visitors healthcare team and leadership; able to teach patients and families based on the care plan
  • Ability to process and prioritize information treatment and follow-up using sensory and cognitive functions
  • Competent in BLS and other required life support certifications
  • Proficient in fine motor skills
  • Accurately record activities and document interventions
  • Ability to use computers and learn new software
  • Navigate the healthcare system to provide patient care
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods
  • Stay focused and organized
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and special procedures relevant to the role
  • Familiarity with administering routine and special treatments to patients
  • Understanding of sanitation hygiene and health safety in a hospital setting
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of and compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory requirements
