We are looking for a Lead Backend Developer to strengthen our Domestic Building Services (DBS) Digital Solutions organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled backend engineer who thrives in complex digital environments and wants to make a real impact on future-proof stainable digital solutions.

What is the job about

The Lead Backend Developer plays a central role in designing developing and delivering backend software that powers DBS digital products and platforms. The role ensures that all solutions follow the Grundfos Digital Reference Architecture (DRA) meet security and compliance requirements such as ISO27001 and are built for scalability performance and long-term maintainability.

This role combines hands-on backend development with architectural guidance working closely with the DBS Business Architect Product Management and development teams to ensure robust coherent and secure digital solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop test and maintain backend services APIs and cloud components C# Azure Functions and microservices architecture.
• Translate architectural guidance from GT&I Digital Architecture and DBS Business architect into concrete technical designs and ensure implementation aligns with GDRA principles.
• Ensure backend solution coherence across service interactions data flows integrations cloud components performance expectations and security constraints.
• Collaborate with Product Management solution architects and cross-functional teams to convert business needs into scalable backend software solutions.
• Implement secure-by-design engineering practices and ensure compliance with ISO27001 including data protection access control and secure coding.
• Review code architectural designs and cloud setups to ensure high quality maintainability and adherence to engineering standards.
• Promote modern engineering practices such as CI/CD automated testing observability and cloud-native development.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in distributed and cloud-based backend systems.
• Support integration with frontend mobile and cloud platforms to ensure seamless end-to-end digital experiences.
• Stay updated on backend technologies Azure cloud capabilities and industry trends and introduce relevant innovations into the development process.
• Contribute to technology evaluations and assess architectural impacts scalability and long-term sustainability of solution choices.

Your background

• Bachelors or Masters in Engineering with 15 years of experience within in backend development.
• Advanced proficiency C# Azure Functions and microservices.
• Experience with REST API development; GraphQL experience is a strong advantage.
• Solid understanding of secure software development and ISO27001 practices.
• Experience with distributed systems asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.
• Strong analytical debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with architects product managers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical topics.
