Job Summary
Develop and provide highly specialized analytics and performance reporting to enable and support business decision making activities. Review existing and future analytical activities that will enable the company to establish effective commercial terms within all stakeholders and support the business planning process.
The Sales Planning Consultant is responsible for partnering with Commercial Leadership to provide in-depth analysis on the financial performance of the largest and most valuable customers who represent a majority of the Canadian portfolio. He/she plays a critical role in the end to end negotiation process for the RFPs for these customers building and maintaining relationships both internally and externally to support the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the monthly and quarterly financial analysis for the Canadian segment identifying areas requiring attention through management reports. Lead discussions and recommends remedial action to senior management in terms of top and bottom-line performance and serves as an expert resource in their field.
- Translate highly complex business issues into quantifiable scenarios so that financial models can be built to quantify the business impact.
- Responsible for the forecasting/budgeting of corporate accounts trade spend as part of the monthly and annual process including the analysis of trade spend trends to highlight variances and ensure alignment to the most up to date negotiated rates.
- Identifies and lead development of support systems and analytical tools implementations to increase automation and improve productivity.
- Lead discussions with executives to establish new analytical techniques and best practices within Canadian Commercial Team.
- Leads on-going contract and RFP negotiation activities with all stakeholders e.g. chains banners etc. and ensures that any changes are reflected in the Territory targets and forecast
- Undertakes appropriate analysis in a proactive manner in order to provide meaningful reporting to executive management to support effective decision-making and operational benchmarking of business activities. Utilizes advanced analytical techniques to identify and recommend profitability improvement initiatives for the Canadian business.
- Act as a mentor to junior employees; providing guidance on activities reporting and relationships
- Manages change through effective communication and teamwork. Responds to highly complex queries from internal clients with respect to profit management issues.
- Act as a technical expert on all aspects of customer related issues including but not limited to maintenance of accrual payment request and account reconciliations and apply all learning to proactively prevent future errors
- Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

- Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program Global Quality policies and procedures Safety and Environment policies and HR policies.

Job Requirements
- University Degree in Business / Accounting or relevant field and/or Accounting Professional Designation / MBA
- CPA (or pursuing CPA) is highly desirable
- Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Superior MS skills (Word Excel PowerPoint Access)
- Knowledge of a sales organizations business processes.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of SAP
- Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner.
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization in terms of people processes and systems. Organizational agility.
- Ability to understand the organizations vision and goals and the ability to communicate and actions them in an effective manner.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Strong command skills to support forecasting watchdog role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to internal and external customers
- Experience
- 5 years pharmaceutical CPG or related business experience (Advanced data analytics Forecasting Planning etc.)
