What is the Opportunity

Reporting the EHS Director the EHS Manager will be responsible for promoting the health safety and environmental Manager will oversee a team of Advisors while working with the senior management team to ensure continuous improvement and standards are met on site.

What Youll Do Here:

• Provide site specific safety training orientation and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
• Develop and train supervisors and staff on the Health Safety and Environmental Manual
• Review project plans and project sites before work commences identifying safety-related risks.
• Inspect active project sites to evaluate ongoing work conditions to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
• Liaise with external parties such as government inspectors sub-contractors and general public.
• Work with project management teams and field workers to implement and devise solutions to safety-related issues on project sites.
• Work with senior management to create plans for emergency procedures.
• Ensure subcontractors and employees comply with safety standards.
• Investigate incidents to identify causes and to determine corrective/preventive action plans.
• Represent project at meetings with stakeholders and other organizations on issues regarding workplace health and safety matters.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Minimum 5 years experience managing health and safety for heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of Construction projects with a solid understanding of WorkSafeBC legislation and regulations
• Bachelors degree and Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) preferred.
• National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or equivalent
• Experience in working on heavy civil infrastructure specifically Tunneling or Mining projects is required.
• Background in Training and/or Education and or experience delivering EHS Training programs to individuals and groups.
• Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
• Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Excellent meeting and training facilitation skills
• Understanding of Workers Compensation and return-to-work programs
• Adaptable and flexible to an ever-changing environment
• Valid drivers license with good driving record and the ability to drive to job sites.

The expected pay range for this position is$110000 - $120000.
