Staff Software Engineer iOS

Synechron is looking for an experienced iOS Tech Lead to spearhead mobile application development for a major Big 4 Banking project in Sydney. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in iOS development with leadership skills to guide teams design secure solutions and deliver high-quality mobile experiences in a regulated financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design development and deployment of iOS applications for enterprise banking solutions.
• Architect scalable and secure mobile solutions aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• Drive adoption of best practices in Swift Objective-C and iOS frameworks.
• Collaborate with product owners UX/UI designers and backend teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Implement DevSecOps practices for mobile CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct security threat modelling and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Mentor and guide developers perform code reviews and enforce coding standards.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest iOS technologies tools and industry trends.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8 years of experience in mobile application development with at least 3 years in a Tech Lead role.
• Strong proficiency in Swift and Objective-C.
• Deep understanding of iOS SDKs frameworks and Apple design guidelines.
• Experience with Xcode Cocoa Touch Core Data Core Animation and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on expertise in AWS cloud services Docker and EKS for mobile backend integration.
• Proven track record in DevSecOps and secure mobile delivery.
• Strong knowledge of security threat modelling and solution design.
• Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services or Big 4 banking projects.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and API security for mobile apps.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitHub Actions Bitrise).
• Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field.
