DESCRIPTION:
* * * * Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire positions which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Coordinator of Field Experience and Special Education Faculty Professor.
- Schedule observations for assigned candidates.
- Mentor and supervise HIDOE teachers and UHWO teacher candidates pursuing Special Education licensure.
- Focus on instructional excellence. Provide guidance on areas like lesson planning student engagement strategies and using a formative assessment system to track progress and development.
- Observe coach and provide feedback to students in field-based classroom settings.
- Provide feedback to Coordinator of Field Experience and Special Education Faculty members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of masters degree in education.
- Working knowledge of national content standards Hawaii Content and Performance Standards InTASC Standards and Framework for Teaching.
- Three (3) years full-time K-6 teaching experience as teacher of record.
- Experience working with various student populations including special education.
- Experience mentoring students in field settings.
- Experience in field-based standards based teacher education.
