As a Mechanical Design Engineer youll work on innovative projects that make a real difference in communities and society. This role is based in Raleigh NC with occasional travel to our U.S. and Canadian manufacturing facilities.
How Youll Make an Impact
- Design mechanical components for distribution transformers and related products.
- Prepare detailed designs and documentation aligned with project requirements.
- Develop innovative concepts to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate across teamssales supply chain manufacturingfor seamless execution.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality.
- Evaluate design performance and cost accuracy to ensure efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and solve complex engineering challenges.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.
Your Background
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of design engineering experience in the power industry; transformer experience preferred.
- Skilled in CREO 3D modeling simulations and finite element analysis.
- Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE ANSI NEMA UL CSA).
- Strong understanding of design-to-cost and design-to-manufacturing principles.
- Proficient in MS Office; SAP experience is a plus.
