Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Nursing or Nursing Education from an accredited institution. Three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in adult health (medical-surgical) settings. Three (3) years of nursing education experience (didactic and clinical) at the BSN or higher level. Experience in simulation-based education including the use of high-fidelity manikins standardized patients and virtual simulation platforms. Unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of California (or eligibility for licensure).
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in Nursing or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Certification in Healthcare Simulation Education ( CHSE ) or other formal simulation training. Familiarity with California Board of Registered Nursing ( BRN ) regulations and CCNE accreditation standards. Knowledge of adult learning theory simulation design and evidence-based teaching practices. Understanding of simulation center operations assessment methods and quality improvement principles. Familiarity with NCLEX -RN Test Plan and Next Generation NCLEX expectations. Record of scholarship experience consistent with academic rank (Instructor Assistant Professor or Associate Professor). Strong technology proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) and high-fidelity simulation software. Exceptional organizational leadership and communication skills with the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork. Commitment to student-centered learning diversity equity inclusion and cultural humility. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to an evolving academic environment. Current CPR certification. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team in a dynamic learning environment. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice equity and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
