We are excited to present a fantastic career opportunity at L3Harris! We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Specialist Welding Engineer to join our team in Canoga Park CA. As a Senior Specialist Welding Engineer your key responsibilities will include developing implementing and analyzing manufacturing engineering plans and projects. You will be responsible for defining and transferring manufacturing and engineering tools strategies and systems and developing manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. You will also create weld schedules and oversee welds on RS25 rocket engines THAAD vehicles and other advanced programs. The position involves creating complex weld sequences using machine language on PTR and Sciaky Electron Beam Weld Machines and supporting GTA welding operations including orbital and manual welds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and troubleshoot critical weldments ensuring the best practices for weld fit-up cleanliness and weld parameters are adhered to.
- Provide daily support to the hardware flow.
- Develop and document weld parameters and best practices to support production.
- Work towards meeting program targets and schedules.
- Define welding machine and specification requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis and accurately determine and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Accurately report problems solutions and results through clear written and oral communications.
- Facilitate effective communication between team members and customer counterparts.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant welding experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related welding lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior related welding experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Additional skills include familiarity with tube bending and metal fitting.
- Understanding of weld fixtures and pre-weld / post weld locations.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in California Massachusetts New Jersey Washington and the Greater D.C Denver or NYC areas is $82500.00 MIN - $153000.00 MAX. The salary range for this role in Colorado state Hawaii Illinois Maryland Minnesota New York state Cleveland Ohio and Vermont is $71500.00 MIN - $132500.00 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
