MES Software Engineer (.NET)

Your challenge

AGFA is looking for an upcoming talent or more experienced profile who can strengthen our team as a passionate IT-specialist focussing on MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems). As an MES software engineer you will work towards the further automation and optimisation of the complex business and production processes within AGFA. Your role is to be an end-to-end project lead responsible for the software applications that are developed for operating AGFAs manufacturing plants. Together with our internal clients you translate technical and functional requirements to software designs to be implemented within time and budget and further supported after deployment.

Your responsibilities

As asoftware-engineer and end-to-end project lead you will be tasked with:

  • Design of software models in a Domain-driven manner by translating new application requirements that arise when consulting the domain experts of AGFAs production departments. This includes analysing new and existing business and production processes and performing risk analyses with our internal clients.

  • Implementation of your software designs within time and budget using modern implementation techniques and technologies (.NET web Blazor Oracle Visual Studio Git) aided by recent Industry 4.0 concepts where appropriate (AI Machine Learning Data Mining Mobile & Responsive apps)

  • Delivery & deployment of new software implementation after coordinating its validation & testing with our key-users in the various production departments. You will be working with modern deployment-techniques and technologies (Git Docker services).

  • Support of novel and existing MES applications under your care according to the agreements made with our internal clients. This includes providing support for legacy software (e.g. PL/SQL stored procedures) which we will re-evaluate and refactor systematically where appropriate in the context of our strategy and running project portfolio.

Your profile:

  • You have a Masters degree in Engineering / IT or equivalent through experience.
  • You have preferably at least 3 years of experience as a (full-stack) software engineer/developer ()
  • You are fluent in Dutch and conversational in English
  • A few years worth of experience in project management is a plus.
  • You are interested in automating industrial production and business processes
  • You are interested in working with modern IT-technologies
  • You have a sharp analytical mind.
  • You are a strong communicator focussed on getting results.
  • You have a flexible mentality and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • You are willing to learn the specific systems and processes within AGFA.
  • You are willing to work 3 to 4 days a week at AGFA HQ in Mortsel Belgium.
