WHO ARE WE

The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation (BCF) is one of Sydneys most trusted frontline charities and has been supporting the community for nearly 40 years. Our mission is to address homelessness poverty and social isolation by providing essential services including food social welfare healthcare education and community programs.

Our volunteering department is a vital part of BCF and supports more than 1500 active volunteers across our programs. Volunteers contribute significantly to the experience of guests and the smooth operation of daily activities across the Foundation. This role supports that impact by providing leadership and coordination to the Volunteer Coordinators.

THE ROLE

The Volunteer Team Leader (VTL) provides steady day-to-day leadership to the Volunteer Coordinators and ensures consistent well planned and reliable volunteer operations across BCF.

You will oversee workflow internal coordination and operational processes within the team providing guidance and structure to support high quality volunteer services. The role also contributes to broader improvements including system enhancements strengthened reporting and clear procedural documentation.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading people creating structure and bringing clarity to a busy operational environment.

WHAT YOULL DO

As our Volunteer Team Leader you will:

  • Provide daily guidance and support to the Volunteer Coordinators
  • Oversee internal workflows priorities and operational planning
  • Ensure consistent management of volunteer rosters scheduling and group bookings
  • Support development of clear volunteer procedures and team processes
  • Coordinate internal enquiries requiring support from the volunteer function
  • Monitor compliance documentation and team use of the volunteer management system
  • Consolidate monthly volunteer reporting and review data for accuracy
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with internal departments supported by volunteers
  • Provide steady on-site leadership for the Volunteer Coordinators during key events
  • Support service improvements and identify opportunities to strengthen operations

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

You are a calm organised and confident people leader who enjoys supporting a team and creating consistency across daily operations. You bring a steady presence strong problem solving skills and an ability to guide others in a busy environment.

Youll also bring:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory team leader or coordination role
  • Experience in community services volunteering or a not for profit environment
  • Strong administrative capability and moderate computer/database skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and support a team under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Sound judgement professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
