Salary Range: $57708-$76.944 (2025 Salary range)

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Under the direction of the Fleet Coordinator the incumbent will maintain the Service fleet in compliance with accepted standards.

Shall in the performance of duties respect and protect human dignity and maintain and uphold the human rights of all persons.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain and service all police fleet vehicles and equipment including preventative and predictive maintenance including but not limited to oil changes brake replacements fluid replacement and tire maintenance
Complete minor repairs.
Removal and installation of police equipment such as emergency lighting security screens alarm systems.
Modifying components such as rear door locks and disabling rear window operation
Conduct road tests and other diagnostic procedures to locate and determine problematic issues.
Complete decaling and striping on vehicles.
Pick up and drop off vehicles at local dealerships.
Pick up parts from local suppliers.
Clean and detail vehicles. Fuel vehicles and maintenance check
General shop maintenance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge

Requires a valid Automotive Service Technician 310S or equivalent Certificate of Qualification
Motorcycle Mechanics License 310G would be an asset
Must possess an Ontario G Drivers License (GM or class D license would be an asset)
Knowledge of automotive technology technical manuals diagnostic procedures and techniques
Knowledge of Ministry policies and guidelines in order to adhere to established maintenance schedules and repair authorization requirements.
Knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS
An elementary working knowledge of MS outlook Excel and Word
General understanding of automobiles and working in a shop environment

Abilities

Ability to exercise good judgment and make good decisions.

Multi-tasking produce work effectively and meet timelines.

Ability to operate general office equipment.
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
Ability to perform frequent moderate physical activity
Must be capable of handling multi-tasks
All other qualifications the position justifies.
