Overview
The Family Advocate I provides direct services in the center and in the home to help families access resources (e.g. housing economic transportation education employment etc.).
Responsibilities
- Screen children and their families to assess barriers to success in reaching individual and family goals.
- Link children and families to resources and services that will help them in overcoming identified barriers.
- Provide family education and support services as needed.
- Assist participant families to gain increased empowerment in utilizing resources and activities to address family goals with the emphasis on self-sufficiency.
- Maintain complete and current rerecords on all participant families including progress towards the childs goals and parents progress toward family service goals.
- Facilitate parent/child activities when applicable by selecting and applying the appropriate tools and curriculum.
- Collaborates with Special Education teachers Social Workers and families to ensure continuity of services.
- Attends and actively participates in all staff meetings and trainings.
Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
- Must hold and maintain CPR certification.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
