The Johns Hopkins Health System is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager for Environmental Care (EVC) to oversee daily operations deliver exceptional service and ensure compliance across clinical and non-clinical environments on the JHH campus. Reporting to the Director of Environmental Care you will lead managers and supervisors maintain high performance standards and ensure an environment that supports patient care safety and satisfaction.
Lead direct and support Environmental Care managers supervisors and frontline staff.
Develop and manage Environmental Care programs schedules labor needs and performance standards.
Monitor outcomes (HCAHPS Press Ganey QA checklists ECM) and implement corrective actions.
Provide excellent customer service to patients families staff and campus partners.
Analyze feedback and adjust workflows coverage and resource allocation for peak demands.
Support and collaborate with Facilities and clinical leadership to ensure aligned service delivery.
Manage departmental budgets expenditures inventory and capital planning.
Ensure compliance with OSHA hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Oversee training staff development evaluations and performance management.
Lead departmental projects support vacant managerial roles and contribute to system-wide initiatives.
Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience may substitute for education (2 years experience 1 year education).
Minimum 5 years of environmental services operations experience in a unionized multi-use facility.
Minimum 2 years of management experience in healthcare environmental care services.
Strong operational problem-solving and communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning procedures floor care trash removal infection control and safety practices.
Proficiency with Windows email spreadsheets word processing and CMMS/time-tracking systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and CAD drawings.
Ability to supervise and mentor bargaining unit employees.
Experience with workflow optimization performance improvement and quality assurance programs.
Demonstrated success developing staff and leading large operational teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments and disciplines.

Salary Range: Minimum 34.78/hour - Maximum 60.88/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
