In Kansas City Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administrations (NNSA) Kansas City National Security state-of-the-art engineering manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the FM&Ts culture of integrity commitment and continuous improvement enables them to deliver responsive collaborative and innovative management and technology services and products that translate into cutting edge solutions to complex national security issues.

Summary

The Mechanical Engineer I role is an entry level position performing routine engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects of a general nature and limited scope by applying standard mathematical physical science and/or engineering technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the design and/or project/process management projects products programs components tools and acceptance equipment under technical guidance Participates in establishing operating procedures on new products and components.
  • Supports the development of testing procedures and performs routine to moderately complex engineering evaluations.
  • Analyzes evaluation reports and discrepancies to make recommendations that improve productivity and quality to reduce flowtime.
  • Interacts as a team with design agencies suppliers and/or internal organizations under the guidance from experienced Mechanical Engineers to assist in product realization.

You Must Have

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to work remote hybrid or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics
  • United States Citizenship
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Ability to obtain and maintain if required for position a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
