POSITION TITLE: PreKTeacher 2026-2027

FLSA: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold Bachelors degree

REPORTS TO:Principal and/or other Supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: New teachers 195 days; returning teachers 190 days with benefits provided according to the Teachers Negotiated Agreement.

About El Camino Elementary

In the school year Santa Fe South proudly continues the growth of El Camino Elementary our sixth elementary campus. After opening its doors in its inaugural year with Pre-K Kindergarten and 1st grade El Camino is now expanding to include 2nd grade and adding one additional teaching position at each existing grade level. The school will continue to grow annually adding one grade per year until it reaches 5th grade.

Our goal is for students to leave Pre-K with the skills confidence and joy of learning they need to thrive in Kindergarten and beyond. Achieving this vision requires a commitment to high-quality instruction and the creation of a warm structured and nurturing classroom environment.

To support this work Pre-K teachers collaborate closely with Paraprofessionals sharing classroom responsibilities to provide individualized support and targeted instruction that accelerates student growth during these formative years.

  • Professional Development and Collaboration:
    Participate actively in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends. Collaborate with colleagues to refine curriculum and share best practices.
  • Family and Community Engagement:
    Maintain consistent communication with students and families including after school via phone regarding academic progress behavior logistics and homework. Actively engage with the broader school community to support student success.

Our supports for teachers work include but are not limited to the following:

  • Principal and instructional coach are routinely present throughout the building each day
  • District coaches are present weekly in the building
  • One-on-one meetings with founding principal and/or assistant principal once per week/every other week to discuss student progress and teachers development goals
  • Quality coaching to help develop teachers content knowledge and classroom management skills
  • Collaboration with grade-level and content teams

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree
  • Oklahoma Elementary or Early Childhood Teaching Certification or eligibility and willingness to pursue certification
  • Strong instructional skill in elementary content particularly literacy and mathematics
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Santa Fe South Charter Schools

Preferred

  • Prior elementary teaching experience
  • Experience using student data to inform instruction and support diverse learners
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) or experience working with multilingual students
