Job Summary
We are looking for an Occupational Health & Safety Technician who will be responsible for assisting in maintaining local Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and environmental management systems in the Converting Factory to ensure compliance with Group OHS Policy and local legal requirements.
In this role you will be an individual contributor who will create an increased safety culture within the factory team.
The position is based in Queretaro Mexico. reporting to the OHS & ENV Manager
This position is temporary; a 3-month contract will be extended.
Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.
What you will do
As Occupational Health & Safety Technician you will:
- Provide support to the OHS & ENV Specialist in maintaining systems of the factory conformance with the Group OHS procedures and local legislation.
- Collaborate in accidents records and monitor completion of follow up actions by system.
- Collaborate along with cells supporting the investigations root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Lead the governance on hazard identification and risk analysis (HIRA and JSA).
- Provide trainings for factory collaborators: (for example trabajos en alturas espacios confinados soldadura y corte etc)
- Keeps procedures current to defined process standards and legal requirements.
- Promote daily site inspections addressing safety and environmental issues.
- Lead and collaborate daily safety inspections (gemba)
- Assist in ensuring required safety environmental STPS and other certifications and documentation are completed and are update.
We believe you have
- Bachelors degree in industrial engineering or related field.
- Intermediate English level is necessary
- 1 to 2 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety field in a manufacturing environment doing similar activities such as managing cultural change ensuring legal compliance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience working with OHS STPS and OSHAs standards.
- Preferably to have experience in Food & Beverage and Pharmaceutical industries.
- Having DC-5 External Trainer certification is a plus
- Its nice to have a first aid certificate.
