Job Description:

We are seeking a Development Engineer to join the Assay Development NGS team within the Highplex department at RnD on a temporary basis. If you want to work with a leading technology that supports precision medicine you might the person we are looking for.

Assay Development NGS is responsible for developing immunoassays for Olinks Highplex products such as Olink Explore HT and Olink Reveal and assessing assay performance throughout development projects. This includes performing verification experiments and generating assay performance data for website. Product development is carried out in projects with members from other departments. Furthermore Assay Development NGS also work with research and development of product concepts and ideas.

The role is based at the Olink HQ in Uppsala and reports to the Assay Development Manager. Please note that this is fixed term position starting in 2026 and extending to the end of June 2027.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform experiments using Olinks PEA (Proximity Extension Assay) with NGS as a readout platform.
  • Plan and perform laboratory work in accordance with set project plans and work schedules.
  • Evaluate report and document results from the laboratory work according to existing procedures.
  • Manage and record data for extensive collections of antibodies antigens and biological samples.
  • Contribute to set project plans
  • Actively engage in the development of the groups and departments activities and take part in improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in life sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Solid lab experience pipetting small volumes (<5μl)
  • Solid understanding of immunoassays
  • Experience working with qPCR or NGS protocols
  • Experience managing substantial quantities of reagents and data.
  • Good computer skills in general and good knowledge of Excel.
  • A few years of working experience from the industry is advantageous.
  • Experience in using pipetting robots is advantageous.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English Swedish is a plus.
