Job Description

My client (FMCG) is seeking an experienced and hands-on Logistics Planner Consumer Packed Goods based in the West Rand area

The Logistics Planner Finished Goods is responsible for planning and coordinating customer order deliveries to ensure On Time and In Full (OTIF) performance. The role works closely with sales warehousing and transport partners to align stock availability transport and service levels in a fast-paced FMCG environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning

  • Ensure all finished goods planning is done for all customer orders in line with Company SLAs
  • Ensure that orders are Picked from the correct Storage locations in line with planning schedule tool
  • Keep clear communication between the planning function and the sales team with regards to undeliverable orders
  • Assign transportation to planned orders on Ad-hoc basis
  • Ensure planning is done in line with stock available on SAP as per the Weekly planning schedule tool
  • Keep clear communication between transport planning function and warehousing function to ensure that all planned loads stocks are prepared in advance
  • Coordination of off-site transport planning and loading (E.g. from Transit Shoreline Ocean light Cape Town DC and or any Off-site warehouse used by Wilmar SA)
  • Maintain clear communication with Sales Administration Team and Sales Team orders on-block
  • Maintain clear communication with Transport Planner 2 regarding the transport requirements for planned loads

Administration

  • Supply Sales Team with daily planning schedule
  • Maintaining the OTIF reports daily
  • Maintaining the Picking Report (VL06G) to ensure that no pickings remain open unnecessarily
  • Complete Turn Around Time and report reasons for trucks standing longer than the allowed time
  • Maintain clear communication with Pallet Administration Function to ensure outstanding pallets get collected where they are to be picked
  • Maintain workflow daily

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • National Senior Certificate
  • Certificate in Logistics/ Supply chain (advantageous)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in delivery or route planning within the FMCG Retail environment
  • Experience using SAP and planning tools (beneficial)
  • Proven experience dealing with customers transport companies and 3PLs including resolving loading delivery and receiving challenges

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel or related software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication report writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent telephonic etiquette and communication
  • Strong understanding of government transport regulations planning policies and traffic flow analysis
  • Exceptional knowledge of the country and towns/routes

  • Pro-active well-organised and systematic with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and manage demands from internal and external customers

Job Grade: CL

Salary:

R250 000.00 R 350 000.00 (Inclusive Of 13th Cheque)

Preference will be given to South African residents and candidates from designated groups
