About Your Opportunity

As Principal Cyber Security Assurance and Solutions you will lead the uplift and delivery of cyber security assurance and architecture across Seqwaters IT and OT environments. This senior role has been introduced as part of Seqwaters revised Cyber Security structure and delivery model reflecting our commitment to integrated IT/OT security. You will act as the lead cyber security design authority managing end-to-end security architecture and design for this partnership-focused you will translate business requirements into secure solutions and embed risk-based secure-by-design practices into digital and operational initiatives.

Working cross-functionally with teams across IT OT Legal Risk and Operations you will assess solution designs for security gaps and risks ensure alignment with Seqwaters cyber security requirements and drive compliance with relevant frameworks and regulations. Providing technical leadership across assurance architecture and risk domains you will establish repeatable security patterns and ensure the seamless integration of cyber controls throughout the solution lifecycle. Ultimately you will play a key role in our digital transformation ensuring our systems and infrastructure are secure resilient and compliant in line with industry best practices and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead cyber security design authority for technology solutions across both IT and OT embedding secure-by-design principles from inception through delivery.
  • Develop and maintain security architecture frameworks patterns and technical standards guide secure system design and integration across the enterprise.
  • Oversee and improve cyber assurance processes delivering scalable and repeatable security reviews risk assessments and architectural compliance checks for projects and systems.
  • Drive integration of IT and OT security ensuring industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology assets are secure resilient and aligned with frameworks such as IEC 62443 for critical infrastructure.
  • Lead cloud security strategy and governance ensuring the secure adoption and management of cloud services (AWS Azure and hybrid environments) in line with best practices and company standards.
  • Support the Cyber Security leadership in strategic planning capability uplift and improving the maturity of cyber security services and practices across the organisation.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • 10 years of experience in cyber security including significant exposure to security architecture and/or cyber risk management roles. You have proven experience designing and reviewing enterprise security architectures (covering cloud and network security) and leading technical security risk assessments or compliance assurance activities.
  • Experience working in or securing critical infrastructure environments (water energy transport or similar) and OT/ICS systems is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with modern security practices such as DevSecOps security automation/orchestration and emerging technologies (e.g. AI-driven security analytics) will be beneficial.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical security concepts and risk insights to diverse audiences including non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership. You can translate cyber risks into business impacts and actionable advice.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams (IT OT Legal Risk Operations). You are adept at building relationships and influencing outcomes in a complex environment.
  • High level of initiative and strategic thinking capable of leading complex outcomes across multiple concurrent workstreams. You take ownership of challenges and drive continuous improvement and best practices in cyber security.

This role will be offered on a full-time permanent basis with a competitive salary plus 12.75% superannuation.
