Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour depending on experience level

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm with Saturday overtime (9am-noon) during tax season as needed - February 10th to April 15th

About this Opportunity:
The Staff Accountant performs a variety of professional accounting work related to the preparation and maintenance of public sector accounting and financial reporting records. The role is for an individual seeking continuous development and opportunities to broaden their accounting and tax skills. This position is mid-level class in the professional accounting series. Initially under close supervision perform the more routine accounting duties while learning the firms structure service offerings and internal practices related to professional administrative and personnel matters. As experience is gained duties become more diversified and are performed under more general supervision.

What Youll Be Doing:

Complete monthly bank reconciliations for various accounts across the company and its affiliates.

Oversee month-end quarterly and year-end closing processes.

Manage multiple clients tasks and reporting systems simultaneously.

Maintain/oversee acct. records ensuring proper tracking of disbursements expenses income and tax payments.

Post Adjusting Journal Entries for clients using QuickBooks (Online).

Prepare and maintain payroll records using ADP.

Maintain fixed asset records with Fixed Assets CS (Thomson Rueters).

Complete payroll tax reporting and Form 1099 filings.

Manage federal tax payments through EFTPS ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

Process and verify state tax filings and payments using MN E-Services.

What makes you a great fit:

Associate degree or higher: Any combination of experience and education that would be likely to provide the required knowledge skills and abilities could be qualifying as determined by the firm.

Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience preferably in a public setting. Knowledge of Payroll Bank Reconciliation and General Ledger.

Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines utilizing Canopy Client Management Software.

Willingness to work 40 hours per week including overtime between February and April.
