The Instrumentation / Telecom / ELT Technician is responsible for the operation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation telecom and extra-low voltage (ELT) systems within oil & gas petrochemical or utility-scale solar power plant facilities. The role ensures reliable performance of control monitoring communication and safety systems in compliance with international standards OEM requirements and site HSE policies.
Operate maintain and troubleshoot SMART field instruments including:
Flow meters
Level transmitters
Temperature transmitters
Motorized valves
Solenoid valves
Maintain and support PLC and SCADA systems to ensure accurate control and monitoring of plant operations.
Perform calibration loop checking fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance of field instruments.
Operate and maintain telecom and ELT systems including but not limited to:
PAGA (Public Address & General Alarm) Systems
TETRA Radio Systems
VHF/UHF Radio Communication Systems
Audio Visual (AV) Systems
CCTV Surveillance Systems
Access Control Systems
Communication networks and associated infrastructure
Maintain Driver Virtual Simulator Systems traffic light systems and vibration monitoring systems.
Operate and maintain SCADA and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Support system configuration monitoring and fault resolution to ensure continuous plant operation.
Maintain and troubleshoot Fire & Gas Systems in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Operate and maintain weather monitoring stations associated with solar power plants ensuring accurate data collection and system availability.
Support integration of weather data with SCADA and plant monitoring platforms.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities as per approved maintenance schedules and OEM recommendations.
Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with international codes standards and best industry practices.
Maintain accurate maintenance records reports and documentation.
Comply strictly with site HSE policies procedures permits to work and safety regulations.
Participate in toolbox talks safety meetings and risk assessments.
Report unsafe conditions incidents and near misses in line with company procedures.
Education:
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Instrumentation Electronics Telecommunications or related discipline.
Experience:
Relevant hands-on experience in oil & gas petrochemical utility or similar industrial facilities.
Proven experience in operation and maintenance of instrumentation telecom and ELT systems listed above.
Strong technical knowledge of instrumentation telecom and ELT systems
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs loop diagrams wiring diagrams and system schematics
Familiarity with international standards and codes (IEC IEEE ISA NFPA etc.)
Good spoken English communication skills
Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
