Description:

POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for coordinating the patient shuttle vans and transportation needs of patients ofMercyOneClinton /MercyOneGenesis to/from facilities throughoutMercyOneEastern Iowa Region.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Adheres to the principles of caring and expected behaviors outlined inMercyOneMedical Center s Care Model and Trinity Healths Code of Conduct fostering a climate where all customers are treated in a manner consistent withMercyOneMedical Centers Mission and Values.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable FederalStateand local laws and regulations Trinity Healths Organizational Integrity Program Standards of Conduct as well as other policies and proceduresin order toensure adherence in a manner that reflects honestethicaland professional behavior.

Maintains the schedule of transportation needs for patients needing transportation to and from appointment and from medical center discharge.

Communicates appropriately with the driver on pick up / drop off times and locations for patients.

Performs other duties consistent withpurposeofjobas directed.

Knows and adheres to all laws and regulationspertaining topatient healthsafetyand medical information (i.e.HIPAA Stark etc.)

Mustpossessthe ability toeffectively and courteously communicate with customers and members of the pharmacymedicaland hospital staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years of age with high school degree or equivalent.

  • Certified Nurse Aide verification of certification from the State of Iowa. (Preferred)

  • Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire

  • Valid US Drivers License (preferably CDL- although not required)

  • Must be able to demonstrate a good driving record verifiable with the DMV in the applicants state of residence.

  • Experience in driving large vehicle over 20000 pounds.

  • Basic knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.

  • Security background preferred previous experience in private security public law enforcement or military duty extremely helpful but not essential.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Mustpossessthe ability tocomply withTrinity Health policies and procedures.

In an 8-hour day employees may sit stand and /or walk 6-8 hours.

Mobility dexterity fine motorskillsand ability to use hands in repetitive motion tasks such as grasping and fine manipulatingare.

Frequent (21%-50% of worktime) bending stoppingreaching above shoulder level and pushingand pulling.

Must be able to see at a near visual acuity level.

Mustbe able to hearspeech.

Frequent (21%-50% of worktime) lifting andcarryingobjects weighing 35 lbs. or less.

Occasional (6%-10% of worktime) squatting climbing 2 feet and balancing.

Must adhere to applicable organizational requirements on an annual basis for Employee Health Directives.
