Position:HVAC InstructorLocation:Jefferson County Vocational School1509 County Highway 22A Bloomingdale OH 43910Application:Send applications to Superintendent Ted Gorman at include three references on your Time:December 17 2025- January 5 2026 or until position is Deadline:January 5 2026Beginning Date: August 2026 Reports To:Supervisor/PrincipalMinimum Requirements:Able to obtain a valid Ohio Department of Education License/Certificate appropriate for the Degree preferred with Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC or related degree plus experience required by meet industry qualifications and local requirements to do HVAC work.A proven genuine interest in high school level to work closely with academic teachers to meet student communication skills and an ability to relate well with students staff parents and the complete BCI/FBI background Job Description: To Conduct laboratory (hands-on) and theory instruction for high school level students preparing for entry level positions in the heavy equipment program related technical knowledge in Students work ethics and life skills applicable to this vocational with SkillsUSA youth organizations and knowledge and understanding of students with learning disabilities and the operation of the HVAC lab & coordinate customer service work when ability required to operate a business: bookkeeping accounting & organizational skills a training in laboratory theory to high school level students in entry level. Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:Lead and administer all aspects of CTE curricular offerings including program development Ensures curricular compliance with institutional state and federal guidelines. Develops effective contemporary professional and responsive programs to meet area economic and workforce needs. Develops and supervises off-site programs for advanced placement early placement internships and cooperative education work sites. This includes establishing work sites contracts setting program goals and assessment criteria supervising student work and skill attainment and managing work site relationships. Be an active participant of the secondary Career Pathways program development. Promote program growth by implementing strategies that maximize student recruitment and retention. Develop recommended budget for areas of responsibility and monitor allocation of resources. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. Plans a program of study that as much as possible meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students. Creates an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals establishes clear objectives for all lessons units projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Strives to implement by instruction and action the districts philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. Helps identify the learning difficulties of students seeking the assistance of district specialists as needed. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities. Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulations. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and for the classroom develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s) when appropriate. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required. Participate in the recruitment and retention of duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Principal or her designee. Salary: Placement on the salary schedule will be based on educational level and/or experience.184-day contract. Benefits: Paid sick leave personal leave and School Employees Retirement System.
