SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Installation Tool Assembly/Repair Technician is responsible for assembling new installation tools as well as repairing tools returned by customers for service according to detailed specifications and blueprints ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency are met. These job responsibilities require using varioushand and power tools and capable of working bothindependently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

REPORTING TO: Production Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and interprettechnical documents such as blueprints schematics and work instructions to determine material requirements and understand basic assembly procedures.
  • Assemblemechanical pneumatic electrical or electro-mechanical components and subassemblies usinghand tools power tools and specialized equipment.
  • Perform quality control checks and diagnostic tests on finished products to ensure they meet specifications and are functional.
  • Support Tool failure root cause analysis for repairs and other issues in assembly
  • Maintainaccurate records of production and tool repair data test results and completed work orders.
  • Followall safety protocols and guidelines tomaintain/ensure/coacha safe and clean working environment (adhering to 5S standards).
  • Assistwith inventory management by checking stock levels and organizing parts/components at the workstation.
  • Collaboratewith team members and other departments (engineering quality assurance) to improve assembly processes andcontribute/meet/ensureproduction deadlines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and abilities required to perform this job successfully.

  • Demonstrated ability and proficiency in using a variety ofhand and power tools.
  • Demonstrated ability in using precision measuring instruments (e.g. calipers micrometers).
  • Ability tounderstand read and interprettechnical documentation and engineering drawings.
  • Entry levelmechanical aptitude and manual dexterity including excellenthand-eye coordination.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Entry level problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 6-12 months of experience as an Assembly Technician or in a related manufacturing/production role required.
  • Technical certification or vocational training in assembly manufacturing or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with specific processes such as soldering wiring or working with electro-mechanical systems preferred.

PHYSICAL MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Requires clear vision and the ability to adjust focus to accurately monitor production processes and ensure safety.
  • Utilizes peripheral vision to effectively oversee production activities and uphold safety standards.
  • Maintains constant vigilance over machine operations to detect irregularities and prevent hazards.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee works near moving mechanical parts approximately 90% of the time.
  • Noise exposure is moderate.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $58200.00 - $87200.00 depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
