The Senior Director Alliance Management will lead strategic alliances within the Cardiopulmonary and Ophthalmology area of the Innovative Medicine Group. Main responsibilities include providing critical input for crafting partnerships and negotiating alliances leading post-deal strategic objectives shaping the relationship between partners and ensuring day-to-day activities are delivered. The Senior Director will ensure clear communication lines across the partnership are in place and will need to work with internal and external stakeholders to anticipate and resolve potential issues that arise. The Senior Director Alliance Management will report to the Business Development Vice President.

This individual will be assigned specific alliances within the TA and will have a direct report with oversight of multiple alliances with varying complexity. The Senior Director will lead partnership integration through all phases of development and commercialization including negotiation of subsequent agreements and partnership ways of working. The Senior Director will implement Alliance Management programmatic processes and tools appropriate to the scope and needs of the alliance. He/she will proactively foster coordination and alignment of all internal and external partners to the goals and objectives of the alliance. The Senior Director will participate as a member of the J&J internal and joint R&D and commercial project teams and will facilitate joint alliance governance meetings and decisions. to. This individual will openly proactively and clearly communicate across all lines of the partnership including Senior Management. This position will require the ability to anticipate and resolve issues and conflicts arising out of changing priorities and unpredictable events. The Senior Director will monitor the progress of the contract obligations and milestones and effectively monitor the satisfaction of the partner.

Qualifications

  • A BS degree is required.
  • An advanceddegree(MS MBAPh.D.etc.)in ascientifictechnicalorcommercialfieldis preferred.
  • Aminimumof 10 years related experience working in a scientifictechnicalor commercialorganization is required.
  • Experience inoperationsorprogrammanagement is preferred.
  • Experiencedevelopingandmanagingtimelinesbudgetsandsimilardetailsonmultiplelarge-scaleprojectsorinasignificantlinecapacityisrequired.
  • Leadership experience managingandworkingina large Cross-Functional teamenvironmentisrequired with a proven ability to mobilize and align diverse groups across multiple functions and companies to build interdependent partnerships with all organizational levels.
  • Anunderstandingofdrugdevelopment and global commercializationisrequired.
  • Demonstrated strengthsinproblemsolvingnegotiationanddecisionmakingwillbeneeded in addition toexperienceinworkingwith senior levels within theorganization.
  • Excellentleadershipand interpersonal skills aswellasstrongcommunicationandlisteningskillsare required.
  • AbilitytomanageCross-Functional complexitiesthinkstrategicallyandexercisegoodjudgmentisrequired.
  • Travel up to 20% as required

The anticipated base salary for this role is: $173000-$299000.
