The Department of Theatre and Dance in the School of Arts Media & Communication atTexas A&M UniversityCorpus Christi (TAMUCC)invites applications for afull-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theatre beginningFall 2026. We seek an innovative and collaborative director-educator with demonstrated excellence indirecting acting and related artistic areasto join a dynamic faculty. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in acting directing and related areas; mentor student directors and actors; direct for departmental productions; and engage in ongoing creative and/or scholarly work.
Faculty at TAMUCC are expected to maintain active professional and creative activity/scholarly research demonstrate excellence in teaching contribute to departmental school & university service and support community engagement.
TheDepartment of Theatre and Danceat Texas A&M UniversityCorpus Christi is a vibrant student-centered program offering aBachelor of Arts in Theatrewith concentrations in Acting/Directing and Design/Technology as well as minors in Theatre and Dance. The department producesfive mainstage theatre productions three dance concerts and numerous student-led projects annually. Faculty collaborates with a full-time technical staff professional guest artists and student crews. TAMUCC is anaccredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST).
Construction is currently underway for anew music/theatre/dance complex opening inFall 2026 which will provide state-of-the-art performance and teaching spaces.

Primary Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses inActingDirecting and related topics in theBA in Theatrecurriculum.
Direct one production per season foruniversity mainstage productions.
Supervise and mentorstudent directors and actorsin all phases of production.
Contribute tocurricular development program assessment and recruitment of Theatre majors and minors.
Maintain anactive record of professional creative work and/or researchconsistent with promotion and tenure expectations.
Participate indepartmental school and university service including committee work and community engagement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Terminal degree in Theatre or related theatrical field by the time of appointment is required.
Demonstratedprofessional excellencein directing.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
College-level teaching experience inActing Directing and related Theatrecourses.
Experience withdirecting in an educational environment.
Evidence ofcollaborative creative activityin professional or academic settings.
Experience teaching acting.
