Purpose:
Under general supervision this position performs professional level work involving research and analysis of a variety of routine/semi routine administrative and operational support duties in the area of project management quality management performance measurement change management and business process improvement. Provides support and assistance to senior process consultants auditors and team leaders.

Assists in planning executing and closing projects in a variety of operational and/or administrativesituations related to specific assignments/areas.
Develops and maintains databases to support data analysis and research findings for business projects.
Assists in preparation of recommendations for implementation of new or revised policies procedures and/or process changes/improvements.
Writes reports that summarize findings data collection techniques implementation options etc.
Establishes project schedules using project planning software/tools updates and maintains project status reports. Communicates project/process status.
Conducts research analyzes trends determines accuracy and relevancy of data/information and uses sounds judgment to evaluate alternatives.
Facilitates and documents meetings action items and processes using flowcharting methodologies.
Maintains positive working relationships with managers supervisors employees and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation and support.

Experience in performance measurement data analysis and reporting using dashboards visualization or other user-defined queries.

Experience mapping work process flows and initiating process improvement efforts.
Experience incorporating user needs and feedback into work products and delivering excellent customer service.
Under general supervision the Business Process Specialist will perform professional level work involving research program development and variety of administrative and operational support tasks in support of the Community Service Divisions placemaking work; assisting Community Service Division staff with interdepartmental coordination quality control performance measurement change management and business process improvement. This position will work closely with team leaders to track program development establish program criteria and maintenance standards develop outreach materials program guides and other support materials.
Travel:
If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
Essential Employee:
This position is considered an Essential role and is essential to the operations of the City based on the preparation response and recovery phase of extraordinary situations or emergency conditions. As an employee that has been designated as Essential the expectation will be to work at a designated work site during declared extraordinary situations or emergency conditions to serve the community. Pay Rate: $62280.00 - $77850.00
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Hours may vary depending on departmental needs and initiatives.
