Career Role Description Marine Inside Sales Associate.

Purpose and Scope

The Sales Associate plays a key role in supporting Boatswains Lockers partnerships with federal state and local agencies. This position focuses on accurately identifying and processing government bids orders and invoices in compliance with procurement regulations while maintaining exceptional customer service and adhering to contractual deadlines. The role requires strong attention to detail familiarity with government procurement systems and a solid understanding of marine engine and parts products.

Compensation: $23 - $25 per hour to start depending on experience and skills.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Orange County California (Costa Mesa)

Preferred Experience: 1 years of experience in an inside sales role though we will train

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and bid on government contracts in alignment with company pricing and terms.
• Accurately process government bids orders and invoicing in compliance with applicable procurement and contract requirements.
• Review and verify contract details part numbers and specifications to ensure accuracy and prevent costly errors.
• Maintain precise records and documentation for all government contracts bids and transactions.
• Monitor government procurement portals and systems (e.g. DIBBS GSA) for bid opportunities and respond accordingly.
• Prepare and submit formal quotes and bid responses in accordance with the required government formats and timelines.
• Communicate professionally with contracting officers and purchasing agents to clarify requirements and confirm compliance.
• Stay up-to-date on government procurement policies systems and compliance requirements.
• Ensure high levels of accuracy and accountability in every transaction and review work thoroughly to minimize errors.
• Collaborate with Purchasing Operations and Accounting to support smooth order fulfillment and timely invoicing.
• Adhere to contractual deadlines and maintain strong follow-through to meet government delivery and documentation standards.
• Assist with general inside sales tasks as needed including order entry invoicing and customer communication.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork reliability and a commitment to organizational quality standards.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Experience working with government contracts bids or procurement systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Excel Word and digital bid submission platforms.
• Technical aptitude and attention to detail when reviewing specifications and part numbers.
• Ability to understand and comply with government purchasing and reporting requirements.
• Excellent organizational written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and time-management abilities.
• Willingness to learn new systems tools and processes as required.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal departments.
• Professional appearance reliability and adherence to company and customer standards.
• Knowledge of marine engines generators or related systems is helpful but not required.
