About the opportunity
The Broken Hill Rural Clinical School (RCS) also known as the Broken Hill University Department of Rural Health (UDRH) is funded under the Commonwealth Department of Healths Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Program.
Our focus at the BHUDRH is to lead the design and delivery of innovative teaching and learning environments for health students undertaking their placement in our also actively work to improve the quality of health care for rural remote and First Nations Peoples by fostering local and regional collaborations and enhancingnational expertise in health research and the translation of research into policy and practice.
Our team is distributed across three campuses Broken Hill Wentworth and Bourke regions of New South Wales.
We are seeking a Lecturer First Nations Academic to support teaching and placements for Broken Hill and Wentworth region students. You will also assist the Senior Lecturer- First Nations Lead in the BHUDRH region in fostering collaborative cross-sector First Nations community and organisational relationships ensuring that all interactions and engagements with First Nations communities are conducted with respect authenticity and sensitivity.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Build and maintain a reputation for academic excellence through independent and innovative contributions to research and education expanding knowledge and practice in the First Nations ways of knowing being and doing.
Coordinate and engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the universitys expectations and standards for education including cultural supervision.
Coordinate local cultural activities provide training and mentorship to health students and fellow academics.
Provide contributions that have a significant impact on teaching innovation curriculum development research training and supervision within the school or faculty.
Contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought contribution collaboration excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled.
Understand and contribute to furthering the university and BHUDRH strategic agenda.
Establish partnerships collaborations and engage in impactful outcomes in research development and policy improvement.
Undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required.

Currently living or willing to relocate to our Broken Hill with the ability to travel frequently to Wentworth
