Patient Transport Assistant (30hrs)

Job Description:

1. Consistently demonstrates competence transporting patients to different departments as instructed.
2. Consistently responds to pages in a timely manner.
3. Assists patient into wheelchairs or stretchers maintaining patient safety and proper body mechanics.
4. Demonstrates responsibility for observation and application of sound judgment for patients mental and physical condition and applies safety measures as necessary.
5. Always report to the nurse any observations patient complaints and other pertinent information regarding the condition of the patient.

1. Currently enrolled in High School Program requiredHigh School diploma or GED preferred
2. 0-1 years related work experience required.
3. Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

1. Written Communications:Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.
2. Oral Communications:Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff patients families and external customers.
3. Knowledge:Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of fundamental concepts practices and procedures with the ability to use them in routine situations. Specialized knowledge not required.
4. Team Work:Ability to interact respectfully with other employees professional staff and/or external contacts to offer ideas identify issues obtain information or deliver services.
5. Customer Service:Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients visitors staff and external customers in a professional service-oriented respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Pay Range:

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors that may include seniority education training relevant experience relevant certifications geographyof work location job responsibilities or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials call pay premium pay overtime pay and other additional pay practices as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
