Tasks
- Follow the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) with a focus on data-driven systems.
- Analyze system flows data usage and end-to-end data processing workflows.
- Identify data-related problem areas optimize performance and resolve pipeline issues.
- Lead and contribute to multiple Scrum teams providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Enforce clean secure and scalable data engineering best practices.
- Design and implement robust data architectures for internal products and external data interfaces.
- Design develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to extract transform and load healthcare data from diverse sources.
- Ensure data quality integrity security and compliance through effective data governance and management practices.
- Collaborate closely with data analysts and stakeholders to deliver KPI dashboards and custom reports leveraging BI tools.
- Maintain and continuously improve data infrastructure to support performance scalability and reliability.
- Research evaluate and implement new tools technologies and best practices to enhance data workflows and platform capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 7 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or a closely related backend/data-focused role.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Excellent proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development.
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proven experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines preferably in the healthcare domain.
- Hands-on experience with data processing and orchestration frameworks such as Apache Spark Airflow or similar tools.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs for data integration.
- Solid understanding of Git-based workflows and version control.
- Experience with Docker and containerized data applications.
- Strong knowledge of clean secure and maintainable coding practices.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI Tableau or Qlik.
Soft Skills
- Strong team-oriented mindset with a reliable and proactive attitude.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Fluent in English both written and verbal.
- Comfortable delivering internal and external presentations.
