Job Summary: The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services to patients in both pulmonary function laboratory and clinical care settings. This role requires advanced expertise in pulmonary function testing respiratory diagnostics and clinical respiratory care. The therapist supports high-quality patient outcomes through accurate testing effective treatment delivery and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. This is a full-time 40-hour/week day-shift (8:00 AM 4:00 PM) position for a 60-day assignment.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Pulmonary Function Testing experience Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a functioning PFT laboratory Required
- 3 years of experience performing spirometry plethysmography DLCO 6-minute walk tests and ABGs Required
- Working knowledge of mechanical ventilation and ventilators Required
- Computer application proficiency Required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience Preferred
- Intubation experience Preferred
Education
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Program Required
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
License
- Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License Required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential Required
