Job Summary:
To assist the resource center specialist in the organization and maintenance of the media center to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist resource center specialist in the daily operation of the media center
- Assist students and teachers in the selection of materials
- Assist in circulation tasks (checking in/out of books and materials etc)
- Perform general clerical tasks and repairs of books and materials
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications:
- High School education or equivalent
Skills & Competencies:

- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word Excel etc)
- Ability to operate standard office equipment

- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with students teachers parents and district personnel
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Inside a school library or resource center which may include classrooms or computer labs
- Frequent contact with students teachers and other school stuff
- Generally quiet but may be louder during student visits or group activities
- Ability to move around the library frequently; walking and standing for extended periods
- Frequent reaching bending stooping and kneeling to shelve or retrieve books
- May need to lift and carry boxes of books or supplies (typically up to 2540 pounds)
